SAFERACK ANNOUNCES EXPANSION, PLANS TO CREATE 100 NEW JOBS
GEORGETOWN COUNTY — SafeRack, LLC, located in the Georgetown County Business Center in Andrews, is expanding its existing operations. The expansion will include a $20 million investment in Georgetown County and creation of 100 new jobs over the next five years, in addition to temporary construction jobs.
The announcement was made this week, following an agreement with Georgetown County that provided incentives to the company to assist with the expansion. SafeRack plans to add more than 100,000 square feet to its facility at 219 Safety Ave. With SafeRack’s customer base growing, expansion is necessary to meet demand, said Rob Honeycutt, SafeRack CEO.
“Many companies opt for customer service and manufacturing facilities overseas,” Honeycutt said. SafeRack has always been committed to maintaining its base in Andrews. Having all customer service representatives based in South Carolina is one component of meeting the company’s commitment to providing its customers the best buying experience.
Established in 2003, SafeRack manufactures industrial safety products and provides turnkey services that improve worker safety and productivity in truck, railcar and industrial loading applications.
“In every respect, SafeRack is the model corporate citizen and we’re very excited to have this company choose to expand in Georgetown County,” said Brian Tucker, director of the Georgetown County Economic Development Department. “We fully understand that Georgetown County will have no success recruiting new companies if we do not support and encourage our existing industries.
